2021 Season Opener Update
As noted in Gov. Roy Cooper’s announcement on Wednesday Feb. 24th, North Carolina will be easing COVID-19 restrictions allowing for up to 30% capacity at outdoor sporting events. With this being the case, OCS will officially open the 2021 season with Garry Emmons Memorial Night on Saturday, April 10th!
We are very excited to have our racers AND fans back with us in 2021! Let’s go racing!
Remembering Garry Emmons
We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of our beloved pace truck driver Garry Emmons. Our thoughts and prayers are with Garry’s wife Marsha and the entire Emmons family.
Garry was a wonderful person, a class act who touched the lives of all who had the privilege to know him. He was a long-time member of the OCS family having driven the pace truck/car for well over 30 years. He was a caring and giving person who wished to be anonymous most of the time. He did a lot for OCS over the years and never wanted or expected anything in return. He did things out of the goodness of his heart & love for people.
Our hearts are broken and Garry will be deeply missed. Garry is part of a select group of wonderful people who were devoted, dedicated and always cared about doing the right thing - things that made a positive difference. Sadly, we are losing a lot of wonderful people who were a huge part our lives both at OCS & in our personal lives: good friends! Garry is irreplaceable and will always be loved and remembered.
Please keep the Emmons family in your thoughts and prayers.
