2021 Schedule Update:

OCS fans, competitors, and staff,

We regret to announce that the 2021 season at Orange County Speedway has come to an unexpected and shortened end. The past two years of battling COVID, inclement weather, and an unexpected tire shortage have become increasingly difficult to manage. While we have considered potential race dates over the next month in the event that we would be fortunate enough to get additional tires, there simply aren’t any dates that are viable and do not conflict with other tracks and events.

We would like to thank our competitors, sponsors, fans and staff for your support and dedication over the last several seasons. We will post the 2022 schedule in the coming weeks and we wish everyone a happy & healthy offseason. Please pray for our country. God Bless America with protection and freedom.

We look forward to seeing everyone in the spring of 2022.

Thank you,

Terry and Mary Beth Deal

Fall Frenzy Race Recap - 10/2/2021:

ROUGEMONT, NC. For the second time in as many races, the black and orange #7 found its way to Victory Lane in the Bojangles OCS Late Model Division. Bradley McCaskill scored a victory on August 29 and Lewis White took home the hardware in the Fall Frenzy 75 lap feature. With double points on the line, points leader Daniel Moss (58) started from the pole and led every lap until spinning on lap 72 after contact from a hard-charging Brandon Clements (7). Clements would be penalized for rough driving and sent to the rear of the field for the final restart of the race. Wesley Johnson (12) scored a career-best second place finish and David Latour (89), in his first Bojangles Late Model start at Orange County Speedway, finished in third after pitting to make adjustments to his car on lap 52. Rounding out the top five were Jessica Cann (19) and Richard Hayden (31). Moss would recover with an eighth place finish while Tracey Chambers (77), tied for second in points with Hayden entering the night, finished sixth. The 75-lap Bojangles OCS Late Model feature was slowed by four cautions and had two race leaders (Moss and White).

The Choice Automotive Charger Division saw Carter Russo (4) turn his 2021 luck around as he scored his first win of the season. Russo was the fast qualifier and led every lap in a different car and number than he’s used for the 2021 season. After crashing his familiar #21 in the Billy Purnell Memorial, Russo drove another Tech Racing entry for the Fall Frenzy. Jesse Arrington (53), making his first start of 2021 at OCS, made a last lap pass on points leader Austin Purnell (32) to finish second while Purnell earned the final podium position. Finishing fourth and fifth were Austin Ferrell (41) and Joe Lunsford (00). Chance Carpenter (60) entered the night second in points but was involved in an accident that ultimately collected four other cars including Matthew Cagle (31), Tony Housman (26), Rusty Denny (27), and Zach Peregoy (12).

The Winstead Farms Mini Stock Division would see the top three championship contenders not take qualifying laps and started at the rear of the field. Bojangles Late Model competitor Brandon Clements (7) set the fast time in qualifying and led every lap en route to his second win of the season. Issac Chandler (56), Tyler Cook (68), Jason Cook (27), and Bruce Mayo (00) rounded out the top five.

Cory Purnell (35) continued his dominance in the Smokey Dave’s Mod 4 Division by scoring his fourth win of the season. Purnell started third and used the high line to get around Chris Peat (2) and Stephen Hasty (72) to score the win. Hasty finished in second while Peat ended the night with a third place finish.

Fundraiser for Ray Knight...
We are so grateful for everyone who contributed to help out a beloved member of the OCS family, Ray Knight. We saw overwhelming support from fans, staff and competitors alike as we raised money to help offset the mounting medical bills for Ray and his family at our last race. Multiple drivers even contributed their race winnings to support the cause and for that we are very thankful!

For anyone else who would like to contribute electronically, the Knight family has set up a GoFundMe campaign which can be found here:
